Vice President Ramnath Prasad Yadav has commended the hospitals in Nepal for advancing in eye care treatment, specifically mentioning the achievements of the Kedia Eye Hospital. The hospital inaugurated the Golden Jubilee of the hospital in Birgunj on Monday, highlighting its contributions not only to the region but also to the pride of the entire nation.

Representing Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri expressed that the Kedia Eye Hospital has extended its quality healthcare services not only to the Madhes region but also to the Bagmati and Chhimkeshi regions, benefiting the public in Bara and Parsa districts directly. Yadav emphasized the importance of providing high-quality eye care services, highlighting the hospital’s efforts over the past 50 years to ensure easy access to eye treatment for patients.

Furthermore, Yadav stressed on the significance of the hospital’s role in providing top-notch eye care services since its establishment and expressed his hopes for further enhancement in the future. He also urged for the development of the hospital into a model healthcare facility for the country.

Rajesh Kumar Kedia, President of Kedia Eye Hospital, shared that the hospital has evolved over the last 50 years from a five-bedded eye hospital in Birgunj to a well-equipped facility with 175 beds, catering to over 27 lakh eye patients and performing around four lakh eye surgeries during this period. He also announced plans to elevate the hospital’s services and establish an eye bank in the near future.

In a significant event, the late Hiralal Kedia was posthumously honored, and Dr. Sunu Dulal was felicitated with a cash prize of NPR 2,51,051. Additionally, financial aid was provided to visually impaired children and physically challenged individuals. Dr. Chet Raj Pant, President of the Ophthalmological Society of Nepal, and Dr. Dev Narayan Sah mentioned notable improvements in Nepal’s eye treatment services in recent times.
