Five people arrested with large amount of cash in Siraha.

Sira, Nepal – In a recent operation, the police apprehended five individuals in Siraha, seizing a large amount of cash and illegal drugs. The police, in a coordinated effort across various locations, captured 71 lakh Nepali Rupees and 35,000 Indian Rupees from the suspects.

According to information from the District Police Office, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, 32, and his sister Kiran Kumari Yadav, 26, were caught with Rs. 55 lakhs and 200 grams of brown sugar in Labatoli of Lahan Municipality-22. The suspects were previously found in possession of 21 grams of brown sugar and Rs. 51,000 along with two mobile phones.

Further investigations led to the discovery of an additional Rs. 54 lakhs 14 thousand Nepali Rupees and 35,000 Indian Rupees hidden in their residence. Additionally, 180 grams of brown sugar were also found. The police stated that the suspects were involved in illegal drug dealings in a professional manner.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the growing drug-related crimes in the region. He emphasized the need for stricter enforcement actions to curb such activities and protect the community.

Moreover, the suspects had previously served a six-month jail term for their involvement in illegal drug dealings. The police have registered a case against them for further investigation in the Siraha District Court.

In a separate incident, the police arrested Sanjay Karki, 45, from Siraha Municipality-17, seizing Rs. 16 lakhs 38 thousand that were unaccounted for at Mahavir Chowk in Siraha-2. Additionally, in Aurahi Rural Municipality-3, Krishna Kumar Yadav, 20, and Niraj Ray, 19, were apprehended with 710 milligrams of brown sugar.

The police are continuing their efforts to crack down on illegal activities and maintain law and order in the region.
