Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Dhanraj Gurung has called for the formation of a powerful high-level commission to investigate the property of leaders and employees. This demand was made during today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. President Ramchandra Poudel highlighted this issue in his address to the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament held on May 19.
Gurung emphasized the need for the establishment of a powerful high-level commission to investigate the property of all leaders and employees who have reached the benefit post of 2046 BS, in order to put an end to corruption and promote good governance.
After conducting a study, Gurung stated that without revealing the source of wealth, there is a risk of property being embezzled. He welcomed the policy and program presented for the consolidation of the federal democratic republican system and called for amendments based on consensus to strengthen the system.
Gurung also mentioned the need for the formation of a bipartisan committee for constitutional amendments. He stressed the importance of political parties working together in harmony, dialogue, cooperation, and consensus to ensure the country’s development.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on this matter, saying, “Amidst different parties or ideologies, let’s not engage in hostile behavior, our common enemy is poverty, let’s unite against poverty.”
