The District Police in Jhapa, Nepal, recently apprehended four individuals in Damak for their involvement in drug trafficking. The suspects were captured on Monday from the Nau Ghar area of Chiyabagan in Ward 9 of Damak Municipality.
According to information provided by Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, the arrested individuals have been identified as Ajay Rai, Rohit Gautam, Raju Sunuwar, and Bhagwan Kindo Urav. Bhagwan Kindo Urav, who was reportedly running a clandestine operation of buying and selling drugs disguised as a grocery store in his home, was the main target of the police raid.
Based on confidential information, the police team from Damak seized 4.88 grams of heroin from Ajay Rai, who was in possession of the illegal substance along with Kindo Urav. The four arrested individuals have been taken to the local police office in Damak for further investigation.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed his concern over the prevalence of drug trafficking activities in the region. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and communities to combat the drug trade effectively.
