The Nepali women’s football team has secured a place in the final of the ‘Four Nations Cup’ being held in Kathmandu. They advanced to the final after defeating Lebanon on Tuesday.
In a closely contested match held at the Dashrath Stadium, Nepal emerged victorious over Lebanon with a score of 1-0, securing their spot in the final. Savitra Bhandari was the star player for Nepal, scoring the decisive goal in the 42nd minute of the game with a strike that deflected off Lebanese player Farah El Tayar’s body into the net.
During the second half, an injury to a Lebanese player led to a stoppage in play, with the game being temporarily halted for medical attention. This interruption may have affected the flow of the match and the overall dynamics of the competition.
Myanmar, having also won two games like Nepal, will be competing in the final match against Nepal. The final game between Myanmar and Nepal will determine the winner of the tournament, with both teams aiming for victory in their last league match on Sunday.
Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News stated, “The Nepali team’s performance in the ‘Four Nations Cup’ has been impressive, showcasing their determination and skill. The upcoming final match against Myanmar will be crucial, and it will be interesting to see how the team maintains their form to secure the championship title.”
