In the picturesque tourist destination of Manang Kot in Vyas Municipality-5, Tanahun, an incident of assault on a police officer has recently come to light. The temporary police post in Manang Kot was the site where Police Constable Sunil Karki was reportedly subjected to physical assault.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that four youths were involved in the altercation and were subsequently brought under police control. The individuals identified as residents of Vyas-4, Roshan Gurung, James Gurung, Sujal Gurung, and resident of Vyas-1, Sudip Vik, were apprehended by the police following the scuffle that occurred in Manang Kot late on Saturday night.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa, in charge of security, reported that a scuffle broke out in Manang Kot around 2 AM on Saturday night, leading to the assault on Police Constable Karki. Following the incident, Thapa extended the investigation deadline by five days to further probe into the case of misconduct exhibited by the individuals involved.
