In the Far Western region, the State Government has initiated providing free blood to patients receiving treatment in all government hospitals. This significant step was inaugurated jointly by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Minister of Social Development Meghraj Khadka at the Seti Regional Hospital in Dhangadhi on a Sunday. The event marked the commencement of the service where one patient in need was provided with free blood.
During the occasion, Chief Minister Shah highlighted that the State Government has embarked on the task of providing free blood according to the policies and programs set by the government. Ganesh Bahadur Singh, spokesperson for the Ministry of Social Development, mentioned that work has progressed towards providing free blood to patients coming for treatment in all nine government hospitals across the nine districts of the Far Western region.
Singh stated, “An agreement has been made with the Nepal Red Cross Society to provide free blood in hospitals. The Red Cross will bear the cost of the blood, which will be made available free of charge to patients by the State Government.”
