In Gorakha, a recent incident of forest fire has sparked public concern nationwide. In response to this, the Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality in Gorakha has announced the implementation of a program called ‘Patpatinagar Collection’ to control forest fires. This initiative involves the collection of patpatinagar (a type of fire-resistant grass) by the municipality, with a promise to reward those involved in the collection with cash prizes.
This proactive step by the local government aims to prevent and manage forest fires effectively by utilizing natural resources like patpatinagar. The program not only addresses the immediate issue of forest fires but also promotes community involvement in environmental conservation efforts.
*Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News*, commended the Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality for their swift response to the forest fire incident.
