The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has directed the government to pay attention to the situation that could arise due to the monsoon. This directive was given during today’s parliamentary meeting. In the meeting, Member of Parliament Thakur Gaire emphasized the need for special preparedness for nationwide rainfall during the monsoon season to ensure disaster preparedness and to raise public awareness through public information.

Gaire cited the example of floods in areas like Dhobikhola in Kathmandu to highlight the importance of creating an environment that ensures safe public transportation operations. This prompted a call to draw the attention of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport towards enhancing physical infrastructure and transportation safety.

Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News:
“Devraj Ghimire’s directive to the government regarding monsoon preparedness is a crucial step towards ensuring public safety and disaster management. It is imperative that authorities take proactive measures to mitigate the impacts of heavy rainfall during the monsoon season to prevent loss of life and property.”
