The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has highlighted the government’s efforts to swiftly improve public services through policy, legal, and structural reforms. This announcement came during the 68th anniversary celebration of the Nepal Prajna-Pratisthan.

During the event, which included a poetry session and health camp organized by democratic artists and employees’ unions, Pandey shared insights into the proactive preparations being made to enhance the culture and tourism policies. He mentioned that various laws related to culture, tourism, civil aviation, physical assets, and ancient monument conservation are currently under construction and will soon be presented in the Cabinet meeting.

In response to the government’s commitment to reforming public institutions, Pandey emphasized the importance of collaboration with the private sector. He also highlighted the government’s focus on increasing productivity. Pandey pointed out discrepancies in productivity levels between Nepal and foreign countries, citing the need for more efficient use of resources to match international standards. He stressed the necessity of optimizing Nepal’s religious, natural, geographical features, land, and water resources for development and utilization.

Bhupal Rai, the Chancellor of Nepal Prajna-Pratisthan, urged everyone to contribute to the preservation of the Nepali language and culture. The event featured poetry recitations by renowned poets like Babu Tripathi, Pragati Rai, Tulsihari Koirala, Ranjita Giri, and Kalpana Bhandari.

Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News: “The government’s initiative to revamp culture and tourism policies is a positive step towards enhancing Nepal’s image as a cultural and tourist destination. It is crucial for both the government and private sector to work together to maximize the country’s potential in these sectors and boost economic growth.”
