The Minister of Defense, Manveer Rai, has highlighted the government’s initiative to enhance the service facilities for security personnel, including the Nepali Army, for the benefit of their welfare. This announcement was made in response to queries raised by lawmakers in today’s session of the National Assembly regarding the Defense Ministry’s perspective on the Security Service Bill 2082. Minister Rai emphasized the need for increased financial resources to improve the service facilities for security personnel and staff in various sectors, citing the importance of economic growth and expansion in the country.

In recent days, there has been significant progress in the country’s economy, as acknowledged by the Finance Minister, indicating a positive outlook for future government policies. Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on this matter, stating that Minister Rai’s commitment to not compromise on service facility enhancements in every sector of the state reflects a forward-thinking approach.

Moreover, Minister Rai informed the parliament about the government’s intention to progressively expand the National Service Corps (NSC) program, focusing on regions such as the Terai-Madhes and border districts to further develop the program. The NSC program aims to instill values of discipline, leadership qualities, and sportsmanship in young students while fostering selfless service and leadership skills in all areas of life.

The program plays a crucial role in the management and operation of the military, providing training for senior and junior divisions. The primary goal of these training programs is to enhance students’ physical and mental capabilities, cultivate disciplined and patriotic young individuals dedicated to the nation. The junior division includes students from grades 8 to 10, whereas the senior division involves pairs of students participating in various activities.

In the upcoming budget, plans to expand the scope and effectiveness of the National Service Corps are included to promote self-reliance and active participation in the productive sector by the military. Minister Rai’s statement underlines the government’s commitment to support the country’s self-sufficiency by actively engaging in production-oriented activities in the future, as directed by the government’s policies. Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News appreciates this proactive approach towards enhancing national security and service facilities for the welfare of security personnel.
