In 1919, during the Paris Peace Conference, the Foreign Minister of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, Kim Gu-seok, submitted a petition for Korean independence. This significant event marked a pivotal moment in Korea’s fight for independence from Japanese colonial rule.
Moving forward to 1956, a milestone was achieved in South Korea with the inauguration of the country’s first television broadcast. HLKZ-TV commenced its trial broadcast, paving the way for the television industry to flourish and become an integral part of Korean culture and society.
Fast forward to 1962, a notable landmark was established in Seoul with the installation of a ropeway on Namsan Mountain. This ropeway provided residents and visitors with a convenient mode of transportation to enjoy the panoramic views of the city from the mountain peak.
