The Minister of Home Affairs, Ramesh Khatri, has been accused of engaging in political and organized corruption and spreading false propaganda in public life. This allegation came to light as evidence of financial irregularities in his public life surfaced, suggesting that he may not only be unfit for his position but also separate from politics altogether.
During a meeting with journalists on Saturday, Minister Khatri mentioned that there are thousands of employees under the Ministry of Home Affairs, making it possible for any employee to be investigated by a constitutional body at any time. He raised the question of whether all ministers should resign if such investigations were to take place and if the same method would be adopted. He expressed his concern that a deceptive propaganda campaign was being carried out against him in a politically and organized corrupt manner.
Regarding his recent arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister Khatri clarified that the issue of ‘visit visa’ was not the only topic but also highlighted the evidence of financial irregularities in his political and public life. He emphasized that he would not resign from his position but would distance himself from politics if anyone could prove his involvement in financial irregularities in his public and political life.
Ramesh Khatri, the representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the matter, stating, “It appears that a deceptive propaganda campaign is being carried out against me in an organized and corrupt manner. To delve deeper into this issue, I have requested time during the upcoming parliamentary meeting on June 13.”
Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued a press release emphasizing the importance of linking the leadership with the incident at the Tribhuvan International Airport arrival office to draw serious attention to the matter. The statement clarified that there was no involvement of the Ministry or leadership in any illegal or corrupt activities.
In conclusion, Minister Khatri’s stance on the allegations of financial irregularities and deceptive propaganda against him sheds light on the ongoing political dynamics in Nepal. The upcoming parliamentary meeting is expected to further discuss and elaborate on this issue.
