“IME Group Starts Technical School to Produce 10,000 Workforce Annually”

Kathmandu – IMI Group has introduced technical education with the aim of producing an annual workforce of 10,000 people. The technical school is being operated in collaboration with the IMI Group and IEXI Corp. in Kathmandu. The technical school of the IMI Group was inaugurated by Labor Minister Shakti Singh Bhandari in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

This technical school provides training in hospitality, caregiving, bartending, and more than three dozen other job-oriented fields. The school aims to produce over 100,000 skilled workforce in the next decade. The IMI Group has ventured into various sectors such as banking, finance, insurance, tourism, hospitality, hydropower, industrial operations, and projects over the past two and a half decades.

Representative Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News stated that the inauguration ceremony emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government to address unemployment and poverty-related issues. Minister Bhandari highlighted the need for skilled workforce collaboration with the private sector to boost self-employment, domestic employment, and foreign employment opportunities.

Nepal’s Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and IMI Group Chairman Chandraprasad Dhakal also mentioned that the IMI Group is advancing in the field of technical workforce production along with the formal operation of Kathmandu Technical School. “The establishment of this school, which aims to start a new era in technical and vocational education in Nepal, is expected to make a significant positive contribution to employment, education, society, and the overall economy,” he said.

The government also expressed its commitment to encouraging and supporting the establishment and operation of technical schools and training centers. Manoj Paudel, Chairman of Kathmandu Technical School (KTS), stated that the school aims to support the government in achieving its goal of producing 100,000 skilled workforce in the next ten years.
