Thori Gaunpalika-3 in the remote village of Parsa, known for its challenging terrain, is currently facing a lack of telephone and internet services in approximately 70 households. The local resident Bharat Mahato, residing about 5 kilometers from the main Hulaki highway in Shikaribas, brought attention to the issue of being deprived of basic telephone and internet services.
Mahato highlighted the inconvenience caused by the unavailability of phone tower signals in the area, making it difficult for residents to make phone calls. He expressed concerns about the essential services being disrupted and emphasized the necessity of having mobile tower signals to ensure connectivity.
District Chief Officer Ganesh Aryal has directed the Nepal Telecom Regional Office in Birgunj to take necessary measures to provide telephone and internet services in Shikaribas. Aryal stressed the urgency of establishing the required infrastructure within the next one and a half months to ensure the availability of essential services like telecommunication.
In response to the situation, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Director of the Nepal Telecom Regional Office, has assured his commitment to resolving the network issues in Shikaribas by enhancing the capacity of the telecommunication tower in Thori and deploying fiber optics. Bhandari acknowledged the challenges posed by the village’s remote location and pledged to make efforts to provide phone and internet services by installing necessary equipment.
