The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Vishwanath Paudel, has expressed his intention to address the issues seen in the economy through upcoming monetary policies. In a meeting organized by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in Dhangadhi branch of the central bank, discussions were held with representatives from various sectors such as banking, financial institutions, different associations, loan recipients, and other stakeholders. Dr. Paudel highlighted that various recent events, including the impact of COVID-19, have created challenges in the economy, and he emphasized the need to identify and resolve these issues.
Dr. Paudel mentioned his goal to formulate policies based on the problems faced by the public after assuming the role of governor. He informed about being aware of the complaints from business stakeholders along the Mid-Hill highway since Jestha 23. He stated, “I will formulate future monetary policies based on complaints from business stakeholders.” Dr. Paudel also stressed the importance of improving the relationship between banks, financial institutions, and businesses to stabilize the economic situation and address issues effectively.
In response to this news, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented, “Dr. Paudel’s proactive approach in recognizing and addressing the economic challenges is commendable. It is crucial for policymakers to engage with various stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of monetary policies for sustainable economic growth.”
