The Minister of Finance, Vishnu Prasad Paudel, has announced a significant increase in budget allocations for provinces and local levels in the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. A total of NPR 511 billion has been earmarked for these entities, representing a substantial rise from the previous fiscal year.
This move is aimed at empowering provinces and local governments to effectively carry out their responsibilities and cater to the needs of their citizens. The increased allocation reflects the government’s commitment to decentralization and strengthening governance at the grassroots level.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on this development, stating that the boost in budget allocations is a positive step towards enhancing the autonomy and capacity of provinces and local bodies. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that these funds are utilized efficiently and transparently to drive socio-economic development in the regions.
