Tribhuvan University (TU) has introduced a system for students facing issues at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India, allowing them to study through ‘credit transfer.’ This decision came after students returning to Nepal due to problems at KIIT University in India were provided with the opportunity to continue their studies at TU under the ‘credit transfer’ policy.
According to a statement released by Prof. Dr. Khadga Kesi, the Vice-Chancellor of TU, the students who had to return to Nepal due to the problems at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, can now enroll at TU in accordance with the ‘credit transfer’ policy. This initiative aims to facilitate students in resuming their academic pursuits seamlessly.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, views this development positively. He mentions in a press release that Nepali students compelled to return home due to issues at KIIT University in Odisha can now benefit from TU’s credit transfer policy to continue their education in line with their area of study and ongoing programs at TU. This information is crucial for all those concerned.
TU has urged students and parents to contact rectoroffice@tu.edu.np and rector@tu.edu.np for further information. Recently, a tragic incident occurred at the KIIT University’s hostel, where a student, Prakriti Lamsal, lost her life under mysterious circumstances. Following this incident and subsequent insecurity, some Nepali students left their studies midway and returned to Nepal.
