In a recent development in Dhanusha district of Madhesh Pradesh, Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has initiated an investigation into the Jalad canal located in Mithila Municipality-4. The investigation revealed unauthorized excavation of riverbed materials from the canal. Subsequent examination led to the discovery of seven dredgers and two excavators involved in the excavation and transportation of materials.
The Jalad canal plays a crucial role in irrigation and water management in the region, making the unauthorized extraction of materials a matter of concern for local authorities. Chief Minister Singh expressed his commitment to ensuring the proper management and preservation of water resources in the area.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated that such incidents of illegal excavation not only pose environmental risks but also impact the sustainability of water sources in the region. He emphasized the need for strict enforcement of regulations to prevent further exploitation of natural resources.
