“Janakpur Nights near victory in Nepal Kabaddi League”

Kathmandu – Janakpur Nights are inching closer to clinching the title in the Nepal Kabaddi League. In a thrilling encounter held at the Tripureshwor-based National Sports Council (NSC) Covered Hall, Janakpur emerged victorious over the Viratnagar Bandits with a scoreline of 34-32 in the first qualifier match.

With this win, Viratnagar will now compete in the second qualifier match to secure a spot in the finals, facing off against the winner of the Eliminator round between Kathmandu Mavericks and Himalayan Raiders.

During the match, Janakpur displayed a strong performance by scoring 15 raid points, 13 tackle points, securing two all-outs, and earning two bonus points. On the other hand, Viratnagar managed to accumulate 8 raid points, 10 tackle points, one all-out, and 12 bonus points.

The first half saw Janakpur taking an 11-point lead, dominating in all aspects except the bonus points where they only managed to add two. Viratnagar, on the other hand, scored 11 raid points, 6 tackle points, and achieved four all-outs, but could only add two points in the bonus category.

In the second half, Viratnagar made a remarkable comeback, outscoring Janakpur. However, in the final two minutes, Janakpur held their ground, adding three tackle points and one raid point to secure a 33-30 victory.

Despite Janakpur’s total of 11 points in the second half, Viratnagar, who scored nine points more, fell short of clinching the win. Janakpur managed to secure a lead in the second half with 3 raid points, 7 tackle points, and 1 bonus point, while Viratnagar scored 5 raid points, 7 tackle points, achieved one all-out, and added 6 bonus points.

The upcoming match between Viratnagar Bandits and Kathmandu Mavericks is scheduled for Wednesday in the second qualifier round, where the stakes are high for both teams aiming for a spot in the finals.
