Kathmandu Metropolitan City has issued a notice to schools within its jurisdiction, urging them not to admit students before the start of the new academic session. This move aims to ensure compliance with the education regulations and prevent schools from admitting students against the set rules.

According to Keshav Gyawali, the education officer of the metropolitan city, the directive is a reminder of Rule 48(6) of the School Education Management Regulations, 2074, which prohibits schools from admitting students before the official commencement of the academic session. Failure to adhere to this regulation may result in legal action against the schools.

Some schools have reportedly admitted students without starting the academic session, prompting complaints from the public. This has led to threats of legal consequences if such actions continue.

As a representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri believes that the implementation of such regulations is crucial to maintain the integrity of the education system and ensure fair opportunities for all students. He emphasizes the importance of schools following the prescribed guidelines to create a level playing field for students seeking admission.
