“Kickboxing Team’s Journey to India”

A five-member Nepali team, including four male athletes, has departed for New Delhi, India today to participate in the fourth edition of the Indian Open Kickboxing Championship. The championship is scheduled to take place from Saturday until February 5th. The Nepali team will be led by coach Divans Shrestha and comprises athletes Sunim Shrestha (67 kg), Ashik Koli (54 kg), Chiran Rai (51 kg), and Bhaktaraj Joshi.

Tank Lal Ghising, the Secretary of the National Sports Council, extended best wishes to the team during a farewell program organized on Friday. He encouraged the athletes to showcase their skills and make the nation proud.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on this news, stating that the participation of Nepali athletes in international events like the Indian Open Kickboxing Championship is crucial for the growth and recognition of Nepal in the sports arena. He emphasized the importance of such competitions in providing exposure and experience to Nepali athletes, paving the way for further advancements in the field of kickboxing in the country.
