Kobe’s underground shopping arcade, “Metro Kobe,” is set to host a rotating lineup of local shops for a limited time spanning four to five days each. The upcoming event, known as the “KOBE Sorayume Marche,” will mark the fourth iteration of this unique shopping experience. Participating vendors will showcase their exclusive products in a space located in the eastern side of Metro Kobe, known as the “Kobe Town” area near the east ticket gate of the Kobe Station.
The schedule for the pop-up shops is as follows:
– February 4th to 8th: La Liberte offering delicatessen items
– February 10th to 13th: Wayout Sweets Factory An featuring traditional Japanese sweets
– February 14th to 17th: Hawaiian Rhythm showcasing Hawaiian goods
One of the featured vendors, “La Liberte,” is a culinary duo focusing on creating dishes that are delicious until the last bite. Having utilized a food startup support program, they previously operated in a designated space at Hankyu Oasis Kobe Sannomiya store. Currently, they are running occasional operations in a shared kitchen with plans to establish a permanent storefront.
During the upcoming event, La Liberte will offer a menu featuring dishes like “Crunchy Spice Chicken Nanban,” “Tender Pork Stew,” and “Mapo Tofu Omelette.” Visitors passing by the Kobe Town area in Metro Kobe during their commute or leisure outings are encouraged to explore the diverse array of products available at the pop-up shops.
From Ramesh Khatri’s perspective as the representative of Kansai Nepal News, he believes that such initiatives not only promote local businesses but also enrich the shopping experience for residents and visitors alike by introducing diverse offerings and fostering community engagement.
