Laying Foundation Stone for School Building with Indian Government’s Financial Support

In a significant development, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the school building at Shree Panchayat Secondary School took place today. The event was graced by honorable Social Development Minister of Koshi Province, Shri Panchakarn Rai, Mayor of Sundar Haraicha Municipality in Morang district, Shri Kedar Prasad Guragain, and the Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Garima Nautiyal, in a joint effort.

The ceremony, held in Sundar Haraicha Municipality, Morang district, was attended by political representatives, government officials, social workers, teachers, students, and their parents. The school building construction project at Shree Panchayat Secondary School is part of the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation,’ with an estimated cost of 2.81 crores Nepali Rupees.

Under this initiative, funding from the Indian government is being utilized for the construction of three-story school buildings and other related facilities. The project falls under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) and is being implemented through the Sundar Haraicha Municipality of Morang district.

Established in 1965, Shree Panchayat Secondary School offers education from nursery to grade 12, catering to approximately 750 students, including 605 girls. Praising the development assistance provided by the Indian government for the school’s construction, Minister Rai, Mayor Guragain, and other officials expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would contribute to creating a conducive learning environment and overall educational development in the region.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the ongoing cooperation between India and Nepal in various sectors, including education and healthcare, reflects a deep and wide-ranging partnership. He highlighted the positive impact of the High Impact Community Development Project on uplifting the Nepali population and expanding infrastructure to support the country’s progress.

Furthermore, Khatri acknowledged the continuous support from the Indian government, which aligns with the efforts of the Nepali government towards extensive infrastructure development and prioritizing the welfare of its citizens. The collaborative efforts between the two nations signify a commitment to mutual growth and prosperity in the region.
