In a tragic incident in Taphlejung, Triveni Rural Municipality-2, Khua Dobhan, a 56-year-old man named Jit Bahadur Bal Tamang has gone missing in the Tamor River. The incident occurred while he was bathing in the river on Saturday.
Authorities from the District Police Office informed that Tamang was swept away by the river while he was enjoying a dip in the water. The Chairperson of the rural municipality, Tekendra Sendang, had reported to the police that Tamang was missing after being carried away by the river.
Following the report, a search team has been deployed from the police posts in Fulbari, Hangpang, and Niguradin for search and rescue operations.
As per Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, this unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that natural bodies of water can pose, emphasizing the importance of caution and safety measures while engaging in recreational activities near rivers.
