In a recent development regarding the Patanjali land case, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been ordered by a special court to submit a land guarantee of 35 lakh rupees. The Special Court’s judges Tej Narayan Singh, Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Vidur Koirla issued the order in response to a corruption case registered by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
Madhav Kumar Nepal appeared before the Special Court on Wednesday morning to give a statement. The court spent nearly 3 hours listening to his statement and engaged in a three-hour debate afterwards. The final order was issued approximately 4 hours after the debate concluded.
The court’s order requires Madhav Kumar Nepal to present a cash guarantee of 35 lakh rupees or an equivalent bank guarantee within a specified time frame, in relation to the evidence being examined. The order also mandates that if the land guarantee or bank guarantee cannot be provided, the court should send the concerned defendant to the prison office for detention.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on the case. He stated that the court’s decision to demand a guarantee from Madhav Kumar Nepal is a significant step towards ensuring accountability and transparency in the handling of corruption cases.
In the Patanjali land case, senior advocate Sushil Pant argued against Madhav Nepal, accusing him of making decisions that exceeded his authority and engaging in corrupt practices. Pant contended that the decision to grant permission to purchase more land than the specified limit was an act of corruption.
The Special Court heard arguments from various senior lawyers, including Bhagwati Gautam and others, questioning the legality and ethicality of the decisions made by the government in the Patanjali land deal. The case revolves around allegations of misuse of public property and violation of land acquisition laws.
In conclusion, the Patanjali land case has raised concerns about corruption and misuse of power within the government. The court’s decision to hold Madhav Kumar Nepal accountable for his actions is seen as a positive step towards upholding transparency and integrity in governance.
