Madhav Nepal Says Coalition of Two Parties Won’t Form Government Forever

Bhaktapur – The President of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has expressed his belief that the current government will remain stable as long as the coalition of two major political parties remains intact.

Madhav Kumar Nepal made these remarks during a program organized by Rombas Secondary School in Kamalvinayak, Bhaktapur, where he was participating in the handover ceremony of an ISO certificate. He emphasized the importance of the coalition between the two major parties in sustaining the government. According to Nepal, the government’s longevity is determined by the number of members in parliament, and he stated that the government was formed through a coalition of two major parties, hence it will continue to exist as long as the coalition remains.

In response to allegations that the government has failed to control corruption, he criticized the attempt to fast-track bills registered in the parliamentary committee without withdrawing them, stating that it was incorrect to seek passage through the parliament under an ordinance.

Moreover, President Nepal transferred the ISO certificate of the school to Principal Dr. Rajendra Kojoo during the event. Dr. Kojoo, in a program held today on Martyrs’ Day, highlighted the importance of instilling a sense of patriotism and respect for martyrs among students, along with maintaining a high standard of education.

Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News: “Madhav Kumar Nepal’s statements regarding the stability of the government based on the coalition of major parties shed light on the current political scenario. His emphasis on parliamentary strength and criticism of fast-tracking bills without due process bring attention to the need for transparency and adherence to legislative procedures in governance.”
