Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal appeared in the Special Court’s bench on Wednesday evening awaiting the verdict. He is currently under scrutiny for his involvement with legal businesspeople and activists.

The investigation into the order is tense, but at present, the courtroom is abuzz with light-hearted conversations and anecdotes. Just a short while ago, the former Unified Socialist Party chairperson Nepal was seen in the courtroom, followed by other legal entrepreneurs like Govinda Bandi and Shambhu Thapa, all awaiting the court’s decision.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, there was a light-hearted atmosphere in the courtroom, with one legal entrepreneur jokingly mentioning, “Madhav Nepal is inspecting his cornfields,” causing laughter among the attendees.

During the proceedings, the activists kept Nepal informed about the news circulating outside, providing updates on various matters, fueling discussions in the media. Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi chuckled, “Look how fast the Nepali media is. You (Ramkumari Jhakri) have just arrived and news is already circulating.”

Amid the ongoing debate surrounding the Patanjali land case against the former Prime Minister, Nepal, the court is currently awaiting the verdict. The judges wrote the order during the Wednesday evening session.

In attendance at the Special Court at 11 am on Wednesday, Nepal made a statement before the debate began. Judges Tejnarayan Singh, Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Vidur Koirela of the Joint Bench will decide whether to keep him in custody, release him on bail, or grant him regular leave.

Unified Socialist Party Chairman Nepal was granted “special” privileges in court. During the debate, he was given a prominent position by the judges.

The Patanjali land case, involving more than 93 individuals, including former Prime Minister Nepal, was filed on May 22, with allegations of illegal land acquisition exceeding NPR 185.8 million.

**Ramesh Khatri** from Kansai Nepal News expressed that the ongoing case against Madhav Kumar Nepal is a significant political issue that sheds light on the issue of corruption. He believes that the court’s decision will have a significant impact on the political landscape of Nepal.
