The Deputy Mayor of Rajbiraj Municipality, Israt Parveen, has requested security after facing security threats from her own staff. According to reports, on Wednesday evening, under the leadership of the Chief of the Planning Department, Manoj Kumar Yadav, several individuals were involved in creating chaos and committing criminal acts within the municipality. A written complaint was filed, leading to the need for police intervention.
Deputy Mayor Parveen, on Thursday, took leave from the municipal office along with some officials and sanitation workers, submitting a request to the police to take action against Manoj Kumar Yadav and others involved. Last year, there was a dispute in Rajbiraj Municipality regarding the remaining wages of sanitation workers for 17 days of work.
In the midst of this dispute, when outsiders and the Chief of Planning Department arrived at the Deputy Mayor’s office and caused havoc, the police allegedly failed to apprehend those involved. The Deputy Mayor Parveen has been accused of not ensuring the security of those associated with the incident.
In response, the Chief of the Planning Department, Yadav, stated that the Deputy Mayor forced them to sign documents late at night, causing tension in the situation.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the rising security issues within the municipality and emphasized the importance of swift and fair resolution to maintain peace and order in the area.
