The chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and the chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, recently held discussions. The two top leaders of the parties met on Tuesday at Singha Durbar to deliberate on current national issues.
During the meeting of the two parties’ top leaders, discussions were held on various topics such as strengthening leftist forces, budget reviews, political events, and resolving parliamentary disputes.
Senior officials from both parties, including Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Chairman of the Maoists, Dev Gurung, Secretary, Rajendra Pandey, Deputy Chairman, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Secretary, and senior leader Veduram Bhusal, actively participated in the meeting.
In recent times, efforts have been made to unite communist forces, considering the international political situation, conflicts between global powers, the impact of wars, the Bhijit Visa case, and the government’s functioning style. Damodar Aryal, the Deputy Chief of the Publicity Department of the Unified Socialist Party, provided insights on these matters.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the meeting, stating that there is a possibility of unity between the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialist Party, with a review conducted on philosophical principles and procedural issues.
