The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) has been actively engaged in a public awareness campaign in the central hills, led by party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and senior vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, where they met with the families of martyrs and disappeared persons. The event took place at the home of martyr Dilip Prasad Sharma in Baglung on Friday, where Chairman Dahal honored the families of the martyrs and disappeared persons present.
During the program, Chairman Dahal and other party leaders sat with members of the families of martyrs and disappeared persons to share a meal. Prior to this, Chairman Prachanda had honored the families of martyrs in the Galgot municipality and the Tarakhola rural municipality.
The campaign team had reached Baglung on Thursday, with public gatherings organized in the Burtibang market of Dhorepatan municipality, the Arghal market of Tarakhola rural municipality, and Baglung bazaar. District in-charge of the Maoist Center, Rajeev Ghimire, informed that an assembly was held in Tarakhola rural municipality, including the inauguration of the Martyrs’ Park and unveiling of a statue of Salik. The campaign team is currently moving towards Kaski from Baglung through the mountains.
Top leaders of the party, including Chairman Dahal, are actively participating in the campaign. It has been announced that there will be a public assembly in the capital of Gandaki Province, Pokhara, on Saturday as part of the campaign. The Maoist Center initiated the campaign from Patan, Baitadi on Jestha 2, with the aim to hold public gatherings in each province and district for dialogue and interaction.
