Kathmandu – Nepal Bank Limited has issued a warning to its customers to be cautious of fraudulent activities involving the unauthorized use of its name and logo on social media platforms. The bank has identified instances where individuals and groups on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Imo, and Viber have been attempting to deceive customers by misusing the bank’s logo and photos to engage in fraudulent activities like offering fake loan approval letters, letters, gift programs, as well as enticing schemes for online and part-time jobs.
Customers have reported receiving scam links, requests for personal information, and phone calls claiming to be from the bank based on the misleading posts and information shared on social media. In response, Nepal Bank Limited has urged customers to stay vigilant and has emphasized that official communications related to account updates, card renewals, online transactions, or fund deposits will always include clear instructions such as OTP, links, PIN codes, and passwords, without requesting such details from customers.
To enhance security measures, the bank has advised customers not to disclose confidential information and to rely on official social media pages only for updates and additional information. Customers are encouraged to contact nearby branches or call 01-5571222 for further clarification and to report any suspicious activities or numbers without sharing any private information.
