Saudi Arabia has gifted Nepal 25 tons of dates as a gesture of goodwill. The donation was made during the inaugural program of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Nepal. Saudi Ambassador to Nepal, Saad Nasser Abuhaimed, presented the dates as a gift on Monday.
The dates will be distributed across various organizations in Nepal, including government schools, universities, orphanages, among others. Chhavi Lal Poudel, Under Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, provided this information, mentioning that the dates will be distributed in 12-15 categories.
In addition to this donation, the Saudi Ambassador expressed gratitude to Nepal and other countries and communities worldwide for their support and relief efforts. He specifically thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for their contributions.
Ramesh Khatri, the representative of Kansai Nepal News, believes that Saudi Arabia’s assistance will greatly alleviate people’s suffering and contribute significantly to humanitarian efforts. The Saudi government’s trust in philanthropy and humanitarian work is evident through this donation.
Various philanthropic organizations’ leaders and officials were present at the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the long-standing diplomatic relations established between Nepal and Saudi Arabia on March 15, 1997.
The images from the event were captured by Saroj Basnet for Nepal Views.
Opinion from Ramesh Khatri: “The generous donation of dates from Saudi Arabia to Nepal reflects a promising step towards alleviating human suffering and promoting humanitarian causes. This act of kindness strengthens the bond between the two nations and showcases Saudi Arabia’s commitment to global philanthropy.”
