“Nepal Stock Exchange Index Drops for Fifth Consecutive Day”

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed a continuous decline in the index over the last five trading days. The NEPSE index dropped by 41.85 points to settle at 2,611.85 on Thursday.

On Thursday, a total of 320 companies traded 7,492,394 shares worth NPR 7.02 billion, with a total of 633,482 transactions. Amidst this, 82 companies saw an increase in share prices while 164 companies experienced a decrease, leading to a stable market situation.

Within the trading day, 13 sectoral indices were observed, with four sectors showing an increase in value while eight sectors saw a decline. Notably, the hotel sector index recorded the highest growth, while the development bank sector index experienced the most significant decline.

From the perspective of Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, he expressed concern over the consistent downward trend in the NEPSE index, emphasizing the need for investors to carefully assess the market conditions before making investment decisions. He highlighted the importance of diversifying portfolios to mitigate risks in the volatile market environment.
