Kamal Adhikari, a Nepali student who had gone missing from London around one and a half months ago, has been reported to have made contact with the Nepali Embassy. He was studying at the University of Creative Arts in London before he disappeared in February at the age of 23.

Vipin Duwadi, the Employment Chief at the Nepali Embassy in London, disclosed that Kamal had been found safe and well in a homeless shelter in East London. Duwadi stated, “He has been in touch with us since he made contact. He has informed his family in Nepal about his situation, and they are preparing to send him back to Nepal as per their request.”

Duwadi also mentioned that Kamal himself expressed his desire to return to Nepal. The Nepali Embassy confirmed that Kamal is in good physical and mental health, and his passport is safely kept at the Home Office in the UK.

After Kamal was evicted from his accommodation, he was found on the streets. Subsequently, when he lost contact from London, his family appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to locate him.

Upon receiving information about Kamal’s whereabouts, the Nepali Embassy in London urged the London Metropolitan Police to conduct a search. Adhikari, originally from Hanspur-6 in Dhanusha, had arrived in the UK in 2022 for his studies.
