A new eatery, the “二代目昭和や” (Second Generation Showa-ya), specializing in flour-based dishes and teppanyaki, has recently opened near JR Hyogo Station in Kobe. Situated just a 2-minute walk from the north exit of the station, the restaurant is conveniently located between the “FamilyMart Hyogo Station North Store” and the “Kobe B2 Barber & Beauty School.”
For those exploring the area, heading north along the road between the aforementioned establishments will lead you straight to the restaurant. Upon reaching the north side of the shop, you will come across Nishikoku Kaido where you’ll find the “Kirizuka Internal Medicine Clinic” on the left and “Jankara JR Hyogo Store” further down the street. The establishment operates as a set meal restaurant during the day and transforms into an izakaya (Japanese pub) by night.
Affiliated with Metro Kobe’s “粉もん昭和や” (Konamon Showa-ya), the restaurant offers teppanyaki dishes like okonomiyaki and sobameshi. The convenience of enjoying okonomiyaki near the station is indeed a delightful addition to the local culinary scene.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, shared his view on this new establishment. “The opening of ‘二代目昭和や’ brings a welcome addition to the dining options near JR Hyogo Station. The variety of teppanyaki dishes offered, along with the restaurant’s convenient location, is sure to attract locals and visitors alike, adding to the vibrancy of the area’s culinary landscape.”
