Kathmandu – The Election Commission of Nepal has recently requested feedback and suggestions from political parties regarding proposed amendments to the political party-related laws, aside from the existing provisions. In a move to seek input, the Commission has issued a notice urging stakeholders to submit their recommendations within 10 days for the changes in the existing laws.

The proposed amendments are aimed at enhancing the current legal framework governing political parties in Nepal. This initiative reflects the Commission’s commitment to ensuring fair and transparent electoral processes in the country. By inviting feedback from various political entities, the Election Commission seeks to promote inclusivity and gather diverse perspectives to strengthen the democratic system.

In response to this development, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, emphasized the importance of such consultations in fostering a robust democratic environment. He stated that engaging political parties in the law-making process is crucial for upholding the principles of democracy and ensuring that the legal framework aligns with the evolving needs of the society. Khatri further highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts between the Election Commission and political stakeholders to address any gaps and enhance the electoral laws for a more equitable electoral landscape.
