Nepal’s third-largest party, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), led by its chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has claimed that no party other than themselves has brought them to power on behalf of the people.
Starting from Friday, under the People’s Awakening Campaign organized by the Maoist Centre (Central Hill Route), Prachanda addressed a public meeting held in Doti today, stating that the Maoists have come to power not from any political party but from the people’s vote.
He said, “We, representing the poor, laborers, farmers, oppressed classes, and communities, have achieved leadership of the government three times through extensive peace agreements.”
Chairman Dahal, while self-reflecting, mentioned that they come to the people and address their grievances, understanding their pain points.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that Prachanda’s assertion highlights the Maoist Center’s emphasis on grassroots support and its commitment to representing marginalized communities in Nepal’s political landscape.
