Kathmandu – Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has made comments expressing concern about the practice of using foreign leaders’ photos during processions. His remarks came as he addressed the National Democracy Party (Rastriya Prajatantra Party) during an event in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The Prime Minister highlighted the issue while referring to the welcome reception organized for former King Gyanendra Shah, where posters of Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of India’s Uttar Pradesh state, were displayed. He criticized the unauthorized use of Adityanath’s image and addressed the gathering of the 11th General Assembly of Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society on Monday. Oli emphasized that he did not have the opportunity to participate in unconstitutional, anti-democratic, anti-system, and anti-method activities due to his busy schedule.

Representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri, shared his perspective on the matter. He praised Prime Minister Oli for taking a stand against the unauthorized use of foreign leaders’ images, labeling it as inappropriate and potentially misleading. Khatri emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional principles and democratic values in such public events and commended Oli for his commitment to addressing such issues.
