Opposition parties in the Federal Parliament faced a roadblock as their demands related to the “Visa Scandal” investigation were not met, leading to a stalemate in the House proceedings. The meeting of three major opposition parties held on Friday at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor highlighted their insistence on the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the issue thoroughly before the Home Minister resigns. The National Freedom Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) Member of Parliament Manish Jha shared this information with the press.
Since the enactment of the Labor Act in 2064 BS, the opposition parties have been pressing for the establishment of a commission to investigate the “Visa Scandal” that has been lingering since the current Home Minister assumed office. The main opposition parties – CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist) – jointly expressed their commitment in the meeting to always oppose such incidents and work towards debunking them. They decided to show unity in rejecting such practices for the greater good.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, commented that the opposition’s demand for a thorough investigation into the “Visa Scandal” reflects their dedication to upholding transparency and accountability in governance, which are essential for a functioning democracy. He emphasized the importance of addressing such issues promptly to maintain public trust in the government and ensure ethical practices in public service.
