The Chitwan District Court has issued an order for the National Freedom Party’s President Ravi Lamichhane to deposit NPR 5.4 million in bail in a cooperative fraud case. The decision was made during a hearing presided over by Judge Dayaram Dhakal on Thursday.
Furthermore, Judge Dhakal instructed that if Lamichhane fails to provide the bail amount as ordered, he should be taken into custody as per the law and sent to the relevant prison office.
Lamichhane had been engaged in a debate over his statement and the bail amount since Wednesday. He was required to appear in court on Wednesday in connection to the cooperative fraud case at Sahara Chitwan Cooperative.
Despite facing organized crime charges against him in Kaski, Kathmandu, and Rupandehi, with cases registered against him, the fraud case in Chitwan remains the only one in progress.
