The Supreme Court has issued an order to release the senior Vice-Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Ravi Mishra, on interim bail. Justices Dr. Kumar Chudal and Til Prasad Shrestha of the Joint Bench issued the order for Mishra’s release on bail today.

The order states that based on the evidence collected during the ongoing investigation, if there is a need for further evidence collection and Mishra is not at risk of fleeing, the District Police Office should present him before the court for immediate release. Mishra, a leader of RPP, was arrested on Chaitra 15th on charges of treason, organized crime, and criminal offenses. He had been in custody for investigation purposes until now.

The District Court had previously granted permission for Mishra’s detention on Baisakh 10th, stating that the necessary evidence for collection had been gathered. The Supreme Court has now ordered Mishra’s release on interim bail in accordance with the Muluki Criminal Procedure Code, 2074, to gather additional evidence.

*Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News says, “The decision to grant interim bail to Ravi Mishra by the Supreme Court reflects the commitment to upholding justice and ensuring fair legal proceedings. It is a significant step towards maintaining transparency and accountability in the legal system.”*
