The Unified Socialist Convention of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has hit a roadblock as discussions have been stalled following disagreements among the presidential aspirants. The convention, aimed at electing a new president for the party, was put on hold as the contenders failed to reach a consensus.

The NCP, formed after the merger of two major communist parties in Nepal, has been facing internal challenges as various factions within the party vie for leadership positions. The delay in the convention highlights the deep-rooted divisions and power struggles within the party.

In light of these developments, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concerns about the impact of the impasse on the party’s unity and future direction. Khatri emphasized the need for the NCP to prioritize internal cohesion and resolve conflicts through dialogue to maintain its political strength and relevance in Nepal’s ever-evolving political landscape.
