“Peace Rally in Tappejung by Sherpa Community”

A cultural event was organized today in the bustling market of Phungling Bazaar by the Sherpa community residing in the Himalayan region of Taplejung. The event aimed to spread a message of peace and prosperity, with members of the Sherpa community participating in the rally adorned in traditional attire, including Maulik Posak.

The rally commenced from Virendra Chowk and proceeded on a circumambulation of the Gum Bazaar. The circumambulation of the gum bazaar holds religious significance for the Sherpa community, as it is a vital tradition intertwined with their spiritual beliefs. It is believed to foster peace, harmony, and positive energy within the community.

The event, hosted jointly by the Himalayan Sherpa Cultural Center in Taplejung and the Sherpa Communication Group Nepal District Chapter, celebrated the national festival of Buddhists, the 2152nd Shingmo Dul Lo Gyalpo Losar. Traditional dances, folk songs, music, and cultural displays were presented to mark the occasion.
