Plan Needed to Improve Human Development Index in Far-West: Foreign Minister

KATHMANDU – Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Arju Rana Deuba stated that the Sudurpashchim Province is currently lagging significantly in the Human Development Index. He emphasized the need for notable improvements in upcoming budgets and programs. The Chief Minister of the Sudurpashchim Province government, along with the Council of Ministers’ office, addressed this issue.

Expanding on the news, the Human Development Index is a measure used to assess a country’s development in terms of health, education, and living standards. Sudurpashchim Province, located in the far-western region of Nepal, faces various challenges in these areas, such as access to quality healthcare, education, and basic amenities.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the current situation in Sudurpashchim Province. He highlighted the urgency for comprehensive strategies and effective implementation of policies to uplift the living standards of the people in the region. Khatri emphasized the importance of prioritizing human development to ensure a better quality of life for all residents.
