Kathmandu – Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, while addressing a gathering in Damak, Jhapa, expressed his views on those who disrupt the country claiming they cannot build it. He mentioned that those who engage in violence and arson on March 15 in three different locations in Kathmandu are part of a campaign against the monarchy.
During the event, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need for peaceful gatherings on March 15, questioning the motives of those resorting to violence, looting shops, inciting revolution, and causing major disruptions such as setting fire to pharmacies. He questioned whether such actions contribute to building the nation.
Commenting on the ongoing campaign to restore the monarchy, Prime Minister Oli stated that those who instigate such movements hope to become ministers and advisors after the monarchy is reinstated. He deemed this approach favorable, comparing it to appointing monkeys as ministers rather than those who provoke the public.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, opined that by agitating the public to seek their support and inciting them, there is a risk of heading towards a repeat of the royal regime in a bid to regain control and authority.
