Former President Vidya Devi Bhandari discussed the importance of language, art, and literature in social development, emphasizing the need to pay attention to their preservation and promotion. The Madan Bhandari Foundation organized a poetry recitation program by poet Teerth Shrestha in Kathmandu, where he described poetry as a reflection of society’s essence. Shrestha’s poetry recital program titled ‘Shwet Shardul Ek Yatra Kavitako Shivir’ saw the participation of former President Bhandari for the first time, who expressed the significance of such events for the continual promotion of such programs.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, noted that various mediums serve to inform society about meaningful issues, with poetry being a powerful medium that helps in understanding the country and the world. He emphasized the importance of consistent efforts from organizers in various regions, from districts to the international level, to ensure the continuity of such programs.
Shrestha expressed his commitment to contributing to Nepali social life through his writing. Ushakiran Bhandari, the Foundation’s chairperson, highlighted Shrestha’s literary creations as supportive in the study of Nepali literature and language. He expressed his belief that such programs would aid in the transformation of national thinking and values for future generations.
