In Kathmandu, dissatisfaction towards the government has led to tensions between high-level political mechanisms. Leaders have expressed concerns over the lack of coordination and cooperation among dissatisfied factions. The public road protests and addressing dissatisfactions have not seen any concrete discussions among leaders. The government’s dismissal of internal criticisms based on speculations and assessments of progress was criticized during the recent meeting held at Baluwatar.

Members of the Congress and the Maoist alliance are committed to strengthening their alliance to advance. The political agreement between the two parties to enhance their collaboration was emphasized during the high-level political mechanism meeting held in Baluwatar on Wednesday. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed dissatisfaction with criticisms coming from within the coalition government. He highlighted that even criticisms coming from the government’s support base might benefit the opposition, cautioning against internal dissent.

Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, shared his opinion on the recent developments. He emphasized that as per the national political necessity, both major parties forming the government need to move forward in political consensus. Khatri believes that external criticisms or opposition should not hinder the cooperation between the two parties as they work towards common goals. He also noted that public criticisms or comments should not influence the government’s actions, as data and indicators show the government is on the right path, regardless of public opinions.

The recent protests on the streets and the internal dissent from the Congress have been seen as a basis for the government’s possible downfall, according to Pushpakamal Dahal, chairman of the Maoist Center. He stressed that continuous opposition from the Congress could weaken the government, and it is essential for the government to strengthen its collaboration to overcome challenges. Home Minister Ram Lal stated during the meeting that criticisms or opposition that do not affect the collaboration between the parties will not have any impact, emphasizing the need for mutual cooperation and understanding to address misunderstandings and strengthen the government.
