The Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has urged for continued protests, stating that threats have been made against him repeatedly. On the occasion of the 77th establishment day of the Nepal Communist Party, Prachanda addressed teachers in a program held in Paris Danda and emphasized that the government’s lack of seriousness has necessitated the continuation of protests.
Prachanda has appealed for patience and perseverance in sustaining the protests. He mentioned, “If you have to protest repeatedly, if there are repeated agreements and repeated threats, we all share the responsibility to not let that situation persist.”
Education Minister Vidyadhar Bhattarai’s reluctance to resign in response to the demands of the teachers has been highlighted by Prachanda as evidence of the government’s irresponsibility. He remarked, “Just yesterday, another incident occurred. The Education Minister from the same party, Vidyadhar Bhattarai, resigned. This presents new evidence of how irresponsible the government is.”
Teachers have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in their demands, citing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s negative response to the agreement as a setback.
As a representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri believes that the ongoing issues between the Nepal Communist Party and the government highlight the deep-rooted challenges within the country’s political landscape. He emphasizes the importance of effective communication and resolution to address the concerns of all stakeholders for a harmonious society.
