Kathmandu – The current executive committee of the Nepali Congress has decided to extend its term by an additional year. This decision was reached after discussions among party members, with party president Sher Bahadur Deuba seeking opinions from leaders who supported him during the 14th general convention. The meeting took place on Friday morning at Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.
This move to extend the tenure of the current executive committee reflects the party’s efforts to maintain stability and continuity in its leadership amidst the political landscape of Nepal. By allowing more time for the current committee to work on the party’s agenda and goals, the Nepali Congress aims to strengthen its position and address the challenges ahead more effectively.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, sees this decision as a strategic move by the Nepali Congress to consolidate its leadership and maintain a cohesive approach in navigating the complexities of Nepali politics. He believes that the extension of the executive committee’s term could provide the party with the necessary stability and focus to tackle the various issues facing the country.
